Woods finishes with ‘decent’ 69
Tiger Woods ended Friday’s second round with a bogey, but his 3-under 69 will at least give him a chance to make a move on the weekend.
Woods, who started his round on the 10th tee, reeled off three straight birdies starting at the mid-point of his second nine. He was at 4 under going into his final hole, the ninth, but a poor approach shot left him in the primary rough, and he couldn’t get up and down for par.
“Yeah, it was decent today,” Woods said. “I hit more good shots today than I did yesterday and really putted well today. I had five lip‑outs today, so it could have been a pretty good number.”
Woods is 3 under for the tournament, 10 strokes off the pace set by Rickie Fowler, who has tied the tournament’s 36-hole record with a 13-under 131.
“That’s great playing out here,” Woods said. “You know, we all know he’s got the talent to do it. It’s just a matter of him doing it.”
As for Woods, he’ll use the next two rounds to hone his game for his next start, the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Woods has played just 12 rounds on the PGA TOUR this year.
“As I said, usually most guys are at this point in January,” Woods said. “Here we are in June, and I’m at the point which most guys are beginning of the year. So it’s just one of those things where the more times, the more good shots I hit, keep building, and it’s a process.”

Glad to see he is doing better.
The tour needs him and I miss seeing him play whether a contender or not.
Lots of fresh faces. Is there another strong personality who can play among them ?
I am glad to see Tiger back on the links again. We all have injuries at different times, but they heal. He is doing the right thing by just taking his time, and the tour needs him back on the course, because he makes them play better at their game.
It’s great to see Tiger back on the tour. He brings out the competitive nature of the other top players. The tour, the players and the fans truly missed his presence on the tour.

he has inspired the young world over to take up golf.

Tiger is the architect of today’s Golf Culture.
H may take some time to put the past behind & to move on ,but move on & move up he will; to claim his rightful place amongst Golf’s Greats
His achievements should be honored.
