When PGATOUR.COM’s new Fashion Insider columnist, the Man in the Black Hat, released his list of the top-10 best-dressed Playoffs performers earlier this week, he ranked Camilo Villegas at No. 1 and Ian Poulter at No. 2.
Poulter didn’t take kindly to being the runner-up.
"All he wears is black white grey black white more black & white,” Poulter tweeted. “That takes no planning."
Well, Villegas indeed wore all-black in Thursday’s first round.
Meanwhile, Poulter made a loud — and clear — fashion statement on Thursday, sporting red-and-blue shoes, red-blue-and-white plaid slacks, and a blue shirt.
While Poulter displayed more flair with his apparel in the first round, Villegas got the best end on the leaderboard, carding a 4-under 67 to Poulter’s 1-under 70.

I read that Ian Poulter was runner up to Camillo Villegas for best dressed. Having gone to the Barclays each of the last three years and each of the practice rounds this week including today the first round, I must say regardless of how well Camillo dresses his attitude and general demeanor overshadow any clothes he is wearing no matter how nice they are. I realize that they are concentrating but come on its Tuesday and Wensday its raining and Camillo can’t stop to sign a few autographs for a couple of kids waiting in the rain for him to sign their hats? This isn’t the first time either he did the same thing two years ago at the same venue for which I witnessed and I was hoping he matured some. He may be a great golfer but he’s not exactly doing brain surgery for a living, he’s playing golf, and he’s making money lots of it, because fans like me pay to purchase tickets to come watch them play. I must say most of the players are so nice and really do a good job balancing their practice and paying attention to the fans, but not Camillo, in fact he acts like he is doing us a favor by playing and that enough should make us grateful. but no I am sorry he has if not an obligation then a firm commitment to his fans especially the kids that he routinely brushes off without care. All I can say is “what a jerk”, sorry I always give the benefit of the doubt to everyone, but he has proved tom me over and over he doesn’t get the meaning of golf and how lucky he is to be there playing golf for a living. At this point I wouldn’t ask him for an autograph for any reason nor would I cheer for him, but many kids continue to do so, and I hope he can take a lesson from Phil or guys like Adam Scott true gentleman and ambassadors of the game creating future fans and golfers every tournament they go to. So my response to the dressing battle, I believe Ian Poulter first dresses way better but when you factor in their attitudes Ian clearly outshines Villegas in every aspect, but that’s just my opinion and probably a bunch of other kids to after being shrugged off and ignored by Camillo today. Someone should tell Camillo that they aren’t animals or monsters just kids who foolishly admire him, but for how long, my guess isn’t long!
