Defending Deutsche Bank champion Steve Stricker is 3 under on his round and 12 under for the tournament as he moves into his final six holes of the day.
Perhaps more impressive, Stricker has yet to make a bogey this week. He’s played 48 holes at TPC Boston and has 12 birdies and 36 pars.
He’s the only player this week who has yet to make bogey.
The last player to win a PGA TOUR event while staying bogey-free for the entire tournament was Lee Trevino at the 1974 Greater New Orleans Open.
Going back to last week’s event, The Barclays, Stricker did not make a bogey in the final round at Ridgewood.
That puts him on a streak of 66 consecutive holes without a bogey. His last bogey came on the 18th hole of the third round of The Barclays.
Going back to last year’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Stricker did not make a bogey for his final 12 holes in the final round. That puts his bogey-free streak at 60 holes for TPC Boston.
Stricker ranks fifth on TOUR in bogey avoidance this year, with just 142 bogeys in 1,080 holes coming into this week.

Sometimes watching Steve play is like watching paint dry. He’s not flashy, just calm, cool & steadly grinding it out on every hole. As most of us in his hometown know, he’s a great role model and a credit to the game. Shortly everyone should find that out.
If watching Steve is like watching paint dry…get me a couple of buckets…Love to watch him…so cool and very impressive in demeanor and looks…handsome guy, if I wasn’t in my 80′s would really be drooling over him.. a real hunk..
Wisconsin should be proud
TYPICAL STRICKER -CAN’T HANDLE THE PRESSURE,3 bogeys in final and most important round.
