Furyk to play with club pro

KAPALUA, Hawaii – Jim Furyk, playing in the final group of Thursday’s first round, will have a playing partner after all — Plantation Course at Kapalua head pro Scott Carroll.

Carroll’s score won’t count in the tournament, of course, but at least Furyk will not have to play alone after his playing partner, two-time defending champion Geoff Ogilvy, withdrew earlier Thursday due to a finger injury.

Furyk and Carroll are scheduled to tee off at 6 p.m. ET.
