Make your picks for HP Byron Nelson

The PGATOUR.COM staff has made its Expert Picks and Sleeper Picks for the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Who do you like this week at TPC Four Seasons Resort? Let us know in the comments below. Good luck with your picks!

  • bobby dunphy (14)

Ill take Ricky Barnes for winner, contender is Jeff Overton, and sleeper is mike weir (he needs to have a good week soon, now as an alternate, maybe he will show up for a change.)

  • Big Hitter

Andres Romero to tee it high and let it fly!

Also fancy Jeff Overton and Anthony Kim to do the business at tasty odds. Get on

  • Viddy

    AK all the way………

  • Tom

Sergio? great tournament streak right now

  • D-Starr

Not one to go with favorites, I’ll take the guy that everyone has written off…..Vijay Singh. A top finish by Anthony Kim or Chad Campbell wouldn’t shock me either. Unconventional, indeed.

  • Big Hitter

Sergio wont oblige. Pulled out of the Open qualifiying on Monday with a dodgy finger

  • Chuck

    Overton, Hoo-Hoo Hoosiers

  • rick

Verplank will honor Byron with a close victory over Crane and Gay.

  • rfm

    john senden

  • Martin

Sean O’Hair. Two good finishes in his last two starts will complement his new putting stroke. Not to mention, he has played well here in the past.

  • Boston Shamrock

    Nick Whatney is the pick.
    Chez Reavie is my sleeper.

  • David B

Martin, are you out of your mind? Sean O’hair hasn’t even had a top 10 the entire year and for like that last 8 months. He is such a bad player. He has no chance what so ever.

  • Daniel S

Excuse me David B, you are mistaken. Sean O’Hair is an excellent player and is destined to have great success in the upcoming months. I agree with Martin and his assessment of the current state of O’hair’s game.

  • Martin

Thank you Daniel, at least someone has some sense. As for David B, who are you to call O’hair “such a bad player?” Are you better than him?

  • Zeb

I think Rory…He is kind of a volcano ready to explode and beat everyone. I know he has had a rough experience at Augusta and Quail Hollow…But I’m still in His corner. Go Rory!

  • David B

Difference I’m not picking myself to win the tourny. O’hair will be lucky to make the cut. You are such a stupi d piece of $hlt.

  • Mr. J. P. Sandler

I agree strongly with David B. Sean O’hair $ucks and Martin is an ldiot

  • Martin

Mr. Sandler, people usually do not write “sucks” with a money sign for the s. I am assuming the underlying message your trying to prove is that Sean O’Hair gets money, and is therefore awesome.

  • John

would really like to see Overton break thru for that first W… and look out after that first W…

  • Mick

    Jason Day by 4

  • Jeff Herd

    Jason Day all the way!

  • Rossco

I’m liking Brendon de Jonge, he has been consistently making cuts and is due for a breakout win, go Jongwe!

  • Matt

    Jordan Spieth ;)

  • Matt

    Marc Leishman over Rory Sabbatini

  • tom neve

Harrison Frazar! Harrison is due & will win!!!

  • JOSEPH ROY

I think maybe ROBERT GARRIGIOUS OR DAVID TOMS.

  • JOSEPH ROY

    ROBERT GARRIEGUES OR DAVID TOMS

  • Dustin's Drive

After successfully picking consecutive winners in Choi and Toms, the Byron will finish like this:

    1. Sabbatini has been playing very well the last 3 weeks and is ready for a win.
    2. DJ
    3. Day
    4. Senden
    5. Wi

  • Mike

I have no basis for this prediction at all, but I have a sneaky feeling about Vaughn Taylor.

Definitely see high finishes for Sabbatini, Gay, and Day as well.

  • RobbyRou

Like Nick Watney to be there down the stretch. Also look for young Keegan Bradley to announce his arrival this week

  • randy jansen

making a cut was a victory in its self for a. kim last week, he is lost out there.

ohair is a little better off as of late but to even think these 2 guys can compete to win a golf tourney is laughable. Making a cut is a good result for these guys right now, esp. kim.

Watney is my pick this week.

    Sendon is my sleeper pick.

  • John Jasey

Rory Sabbatini and K.J Choi in the final round with Sabbatini edging KJ out

  • Al from Australia

My top 5 are : K.J.Choi, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar, Rory Sabbatini and Nick Watney. Good chances to : Steven Bowditch, Brian Davis,Chris Kirk, and Jarrod Lyle.

  • mosh

tough week i think as most are focusing on US Open and getting there game ready.. o’hair has a new coach and looks like something has clicked..
    KJ for me !

  • octopus

david b….. kindly refrain from such rude remarks. i think o’hair is ready to win, although maybe not here. i fancy rollins here. and might i suggest that the pga tour comment policy do what it is supposed to do. how about stopping david b from calling someone “a stupid piece of #@%^”?

  • ace

my top three are molder tringale and kuchar

  • shay

I like Gay to win and Anthony Kim as runner up with Charlie Wi right in the hunt. My sleeper is the young lad Jordan Spieth!

  • djbomber

  • paulie

    Davis , Sabbatini , Watney

  • Mike Burman

My favorite in the B. Nelson is Brett Wetterich. A previous winner, who had almost two years of injuries. He is healthy and playing some pretty good golf. On the nationwide this year, Brett made all four cuts of the four he played in and had one WIN and two top 25′s
P.S. Remember he was good enough to make the Ryder Cup team!!!

  • Anthony Distler

I like Senden. He’ll be there on Sunday. As will Sergio, if he can establish some consistency and if his finger is alright. Watney and Kuchar are always there, and Jason Dufner looks like he’s becoming quite the player.

But the really odd ball, out there, “why am I making this pick” pick? Nick O’Hern. He’s improving each week, he has fulfilled his medical extension terms, he’s been shown to be a top player in the world in the past. O’Hern is due for a really huge week, and I think it starts here.

  • Hector Hynes

Being Irish I sense a European victory this week. Brian Davis hits it as straight as a gun barrell…for his honesty alone he deserves a win, never mind his talent…two sleepers in John Mallinger and the frustrating bryce molder..good chances at big prices…they need to take a leaf from obama’s motto…YES WE CAN !!

  • ST429

I will go with Nick Watney. He has been playing well all season. Plus, his cousin Heidi is pretty hot.

  • lorne

    1) rory sabbitini
    2) nick watney
    3) matt kuchar

  • waynick5

    2 Gloves

  • USOpen@ChambersBay

    1 Glove on RIGHT hand…
    Buba!!!
    Bombs Away this Week!

  • USOpen@ChambersBay

UPDATE: Buba sleeps in this week,
    in that case
    it’s
    K.J. Choi ;)

  • Pedey

Nobody else will make this pick, but I’m going with Fran Quinn. He’s back on the Tour after a year of rehab, and will shock the golf world this week.

  • Bubba1golf

    Ryan Palmer
    Chad Campbell
    Matt Kuchar

  • Mark Greenstreet ( England )

i think D. Johnson to win, he is due a win this year and C Kirk to finish in top 5

  • Ubanx23

Count me in as one of Choi’s Boi’s!!!! KJ, let’s get another W!!!

  • the gaffar

da points to win all day long!!

  • jobsworth

Surprised no one else is going for Scott Verplank. Winner 2007, runner-up 2001, T5 last year, born in Dallas, so the course is a “local”. Played sparingly this year, made 6 cuts in 7, with a 2nd, 2 top 10s, 2 top 25s.

I know he’s 46, but he’s looked after himself. So Scott Verplank gets my pick for this year’s Byron Nelson.

  • Soe

    Sergio Garcia!!

  • Bogler

Jason Day wins, Sabbatini 2nd. But hopefully, Sabbatini misses the cut considering he’s the biggest idiot on tour.

  • Jaw Bone

Josh Teater is due this week. Go get’em Josh your due.

  • Robert

    SERGIO!!

  • Chris

Watney to win, Campbell, Romero, Leonard and Atwal all to challenge

  • JJ

    Shortlist of

    Crane
    Kirk
    Cejka
    Stroud
    Adams
    Petrovic

All coming back to some kind of form and offer value to the punter.

  • RonMexico

    Verplunk

  • John

    Jason Day expert
    Tommy Gainey sleeper

  • Vince

I’m with Shamrock, Chez Reavie for my sleeper pick.

  • humpty dumpty

Sabbatini wont be outside the top three

  • Chickenhats.com

Kent Jones will take his first-ever victory on the PGA tour this week at the Byron. Easy call here.

  • Jen Schmitt

    Todd Fischer!!!
