Joe… Was not wise for YOU to watch Webb’s wife while he’s putting…..Come on; now they are responsible for what their wives do?

  • hmm

And Joe we are here to congratulate Winner Webb for his outstanding putting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Period.

  • Colin Trombley

Congrats Webb on another great win;keep it going for the Fedex cup!!

  • Keith

Congrats Webb! Well done. And Joe, to these unbiased eyes, it seemed that the look on Mrs. Simpson’s face was one of shock and disbelief that a PGA Tour pro had just missed the green so badly from 117 yards and not a smile reveling in Chez Reavie’s misfortune.

  • Pete

    Webb,
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! A truly great win and remarkable season. What a dramatic and well-deserved victory. You have made Deacons around the world excited for you and very proud. Keep rolling it dead center.

  • mike

Webb, your confidence (peace that passes all understanding)while you are putting is awesome! Stay strong and congratulations on your beautiful family!

  • Gerard DeLang

    CONGRATS. SAVE THAT PUTTER!!!!!!

  • First Reviewer

The Belly Putter Rules and this week so does Mr. Simpson. Great Job ! It was a little different finish, and I’m not sure about all the extra camera work, but live and learn. All in all it was a Great Tournament.

  • Bob

Awesome display of clutch putting! Keep it up and lead my fantasy team to victory. My man Watney didn’t have such a good day.

  • Fred

Great win today at the DB, Webb. Remarkable ball striking and putting! And thanks for always giving Jesus Christ the glory, whether you win or not. You’re making God look good to a world who needs him!

  • G Money

You appear to be a great example to those around you and it is awesome to see. It is great to see Talent and Faith coming together while producing results. I become a fan, keep it up. Just a friend of Soki’s cheering for you.

  • John

Congratulation Webb, it is great to see a true gentleman of the game and one who loves the Lord be successful in something he loves doing. Thanks for a being a great role model to young kids around North Carolina. Best of luck the rest of the way and bring that Fed-Ex cup back to North Carolina.

  • Marty

Congratulations Webb Simpson. Nice putt on 72!

  • chuck

Your obedience to GOD’S leading and your obedience to the development of your physical skills is truly inspirational. PTL and may GOD continue to bless you and your wonderful family.

  • Doc Q

So wise and cool of you to give the thanx and glory to whom exactly it belongs. I hope the kids and future champions of the PGA take heed of your uncensored lead and that this inspires love and gratitude to He whom deserves it all. Proud and happy for you son. Please continue the “Good News” so that others may be blessed with this respect and infectious enthusiasm. My buddy BVP is shortly due to join you. PS beatiful family!

  • golf fan

Fred and the others said it so VERY well!!!!GOD bless you and your wonderful family in EVERYTHING you do!!!

  • Eric Rose

Congrats Webb. 2 wins in 3 weeks. Well deserved. You have been the best player this year by far.

  • stuart sliva

Congrats Webb, your friends in El Paso, Tx….College All-American Sun Bowl associations. Praise be to God, all things all possible with Him.

  • Billy B

Congratulations to the Lord for defeating Chez Reavie! As we all know, the Lord follows the PGA Tour (and all sports) closely, and allows only the most faithful to prevail. Reavie may believie, but he clearly does not have the piety of Webb! All hail God, He who decides sporting events. (And heaven forbid–literally–should an atheist ever attempt to win anything. The Almighty would strike him down with His 3-iron.)

  • Ralph Gantz

Great win at Deutshe Bank playoff.Congratulations to you and your family.Looking forward to BMW playoff and see if you can win that one too.

  • Ralph Gantz

Congratulations to you and your family for winning the Deutsche Bank playoff.Best of luck at the BMW playoff coming up.I reeally like the way that you give God credit and I agree with you.My wife and I will be watching you play the BMW playoff.

  • Golf Angel

Congratulations to your and your Family on your winning teh Deutsche Bank playoffe. WOW!! God Bless YOU!

  • Sean

    James,

Clutch playing today. While your back-nine performance kept my wife and I on edge, your ability to make clutch putts is the reason why you are a household name around here. Congrats on the win and may God and his son, Jesus Christ, bless you for the remainder of your long career to come. As an avid follower of the TOUR, there is no better name to see on the first page. Good luck as you pursue the playoff prize and (for what I believe) a quest for TOUR Player of the Year honors. Two wins and four total top-2s is hard to argue with.

    Best of luck sir,

    Sean Welsh

Those arguing my POY comment, here’s what I base it on:

There are six two-time winners on TOUR this season — Webb Simpson, Steve Stricker, Nick Watney, Mark Wilson, Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley.

Bradley is the only to win a major on that list but the rest of his season doesn’t back up his play. With that said, he’s definitely Rookie of the Year — no doubt.
Stricker and Watney are definitely in the running for POY; so if anyone wants to get on here to argue with me that they deserve it, don’t waste your time.
Does Wilson deserve it? — absolutely not! He fell off … and so did Watson (a man I love watching and No. 3 on my favs list behind TW and WS).
James Frederick “Webb” Simpson, meanwhile, has four top-2s (two wins) and is leading both the money and FedEx Cup points.
Again, all the POY talk could change after the BMW and TOUR Championship, but right now I think Simpson has definitely got to be on the top of the list.

    Thanks,

    Sean Welsh

Billy B…….. are you for real. reavie lost because he choked on hole 72. nothing to do with any lord, god or buddha. Tiger is not exactly a religious role model but he is perhaps the greatest golfer ever. his lack of faith certainly did not stop his many victories.

  • golf fan

@octopus..I may be wrong but I think Billy B was being very sarcastic and in very poor taste. Is it so hard now to congratulate a GREAT golfer who deserves it This site is for WINNER WEBB!!!and not for Tiger. And GOD willing,I would like to see both of them go head to head!!!!

  • Willie

Wonderful Webb. Blessings for the next two tournaments and keep the attitude.

  • octopus

GOLF FAN, for what it’s worth, i have no respect for tiger. i think that he is a petulant piece of work, i doubt that he will return to his best. i think that webb simpson is now an elite player, similar to martin kaymer. golf is in great hands, regardless of your religious persuasion. CONGRATULATIONS WEBB……

  • First Reviewer

“Mother Golf” as usual is seeing to it that “Her Young Don’t Go Hungry”……..
We all enjoyed watching the tournament, and the Playoff it’s a shame that one of them had to lose……
Congratulations Mr. Webb, “You Did It”.

  • Brad

Well now God has gone from deciding golf tournaments to reigning pestilence and plague down on octopus. You’ll get yours, Mr. funny guy.

  • Tim

Not to bright if you can’t pick up on Billy B’s
    obvious sarcasm.

  • Tim

Congrats Webb and good man giving credit where credit is due!

  • Rich Haiber

Great win ! We had you in our fantasy golf pool this week . Big win for both of us !

thanks for a thrilling match – keep going.

    Rich & Eve

  • SCAtheist

Your right Billy B, and what a nice picture pointing to the invisible man in the sky who condemned everybody else to losing.

  • Laidbackdoug

I was with ya Webb until that finger pointed to the “heavens” – and I had to listen to another interview laced with that almighty elusive god – small print intentional. Face it kid – if there “was” a deity – then the “devil” himself was more successful that day – more losers than winners. You religious freaks just don’t get it – a winner on the course – a loser the rest of the way – make sure you call your god out on his decision to have you lose the next tournament!!!

  • Bob

Can we keep the religion out of this? Virtually all PGA tour pros are god-fearing, anti-tax Republicans, so I doubt God plays favorites among them.

  • It DOES matter

    ********************************
…if You don’t have the Creator
of your Universe and his Son on
your “side” in this day and age
    BUCKLE-UP!!!
    Way to go Webber!
The Power that flows through your
    veins coming down the stretch,
    is unbeatable!
    We Love You Man!!!

  • Russell R Pappert

First Webb, Congrats to you on your second win. Secondly, thank you so much for professing your faith in front of the world, showing that the Lord is with you always. I join with my wife in saying God bless you Webb Simpson. May the rest of the year be a blessed one for you and yours….

  • ZEK

Congratulations to Webb., that was a great game to watch. stick to watch you have been doing and don’t change anything, I can visualize many more wins in your future. Also want to congratulate Chez on a great game he played. Altough he did not get this win, I bet it game him the confidence he needs to close out a BIG game. Again, it a shame one has to lose but these two played a great game and this is one to remember!!!

  • octopus

most pga professionals are republicans…….. now we are in trouble

  • David J Kelly

Congratulation Webb, you have accomplished a whole lot in a short period of time. Nothing you do surprises me. I have followed your career from Broughton HS, to Wake Forest and on in to the PGA. You have done it in style and I’m sure your Mom & Dad and the Lord have been with you every step of the way. You have come a long way since Carolina CC and you deserve all the achievements that you have earned. Super Dave (ex ranger at Carolina CC Raleigh) see you in Augusta (Green jacket )

  • Billy B

Octopus–you really are dumber than a fried egg. I was mocking Webb and his delusional god rantings. Even if you’re misguided enough to believe in a fabricated all-powerful being, how can anyone be so ignorant as to think “He” might actually micro-manage sporting events?

  • Billy B

    To “It Does Matter”:
Tell me, you Jesus freak: if “The Power” is unbeatable, what happens when Webb ends up in a playoff with some other bible-thumper, like Zach Johnson or Tom Lehman. Does god then have to decide who is more devout? Because someone has to lose, you realize. Man–you people are just too stupid to live…

  • octopus

dumber than a fried egg? i like that! bizarre, but neither clever nor funny. apologies for not “getting” your sarcasm, i foolishly assumed that Billy B was just another standard, everyday, religious, god-fearing nut from the bible belt. i was totally unaware that there were americans out there who could poke fun at anything to do with the almighty. live and learn, i guess. the octopus is still not happy that most pga players are republicans………

  • Kenny riddle

Congratulations Web it’s been a long time coming you have played awesome this year and it has finally payed off. What stands outlet is your willingness to acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and savior and what he has done for you I was moved by the interview after your win at Greensboro I just wish the interview would have been apart of the reported highlights I know you will continue to play well and have more opportunities to give God the glory for what he has done in your life.

  • jtwops

Gee Whiz! I wondered what god has been up to these past few years, he’s been out there helping Jesus freaks win professional sporting events. Much more fun than plagues, famines, terrorism and wars. Jesus really cares about you Webb, you’re much more important than those other silly distractions.
