Way to go Chris Stroud. Good luck in Chicago to a nice young man.

  • powers

If nobody has seen Chris Strouds shot on 18, they need to look at it on this website. He hit a 230 yd. shot within 3′ to make an eagle to move on in the fedex cup. Great Shot.

Vamos Andres, subiendo de a poquito

I know playoffs are to reward the present but it seems a bit unfair that you can make that big of a move without winning the tournament. I think the points system still needs some rework. In other sports, the playoffs reward the teams regular season by matching the strongest against the weakest. In the Fed Ex, there is no advantage of a decent season other than to get into the playoffs in the first place. One high finish or a win and you are almost guaranteed a place in the Tour Championship.

  • Tigress

Sure.. It’s really clever of you to compare team sports to golf..
Yeah what advantage wld u hv by hving a decent swain.. Other then the money!!!
One high finish or a win.. Wow you do make it sound that easy huh..
    Genious!!!
    Duane for President…!!!!

I still think the FedEx Cup Points need to be completely overhauled. The FedEx Cup should be awarded to the best all round golfer of the year and not just the golfer who got hot at the right time. Points should be awarded after every round and for the overall tournament. Points should also be awarded for every birdie, eagle, GIR, FIR, etc.

  • Jeff clause

Well done, Ernie!. You should be playing for the cut every week. I gives you the fire you need!

  • Richie

Go Ernie! Good to see a guy play three weeks in a row…just to make the cut, so to speak. Tiger had the same opportunity, but decided not to play the Wyndhams….sad really.

Who is going to make it to the Tour Championship by Coca-Cola final leg of 30 Golfers.

I just finished my homework and took the list of 70 Golfers and because anything can happen in Golf, I decided to reverse the Field and allocate the appropriate Points.

So I listed Chris Stround as the Winner and gave him 2,500 points. Then Geoff Ogilvy 2nd place and 1,500 points. Third is Ernie Els with 1,000 points. I continue up to the #1 Golfer, Webb Simpson, who in this senario would finish last and get 5 points.

There is no tying for positions because that would delute the points assigned to each Golfer.

The final outcome is this. The Top 27 listed at the present time will remain within the Top 30 for the finale with Charl Schwartzel in the 30th spot.

The Three Golfers who are in the Top 30 at the present time that will be booted out are: Y.E. Yang, Jason Dufner and Kyle Stanley.

The Three newcomers will be Chris Stroud in third place, Geoff Ogilvy in ninth place and Ernie Els in position #22.

Do I think that this finish is possible? No! But there is always a possibility and it allows food for thought when dealing with Stats and numbers.

    What are your picks?

  • Joe

Richie – Tiger had parental obligations. What that means, I do not know. Does he have any dogs/Pets?
