LA JOLLA, Calif. — Will the "snakeshaker" re-appear? What about that red wetsuit and the helmet?
We’ll know early this week when Ben Crane releases his newest video prior to the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open. Crane, though, isn’t revealing much about what we’ll see in the follow-up to his popular workout and slow-play creations.
"I used to be a gymnast — that’s all I’ll say," Crane said with a knowing smile, playfully trying to heighten the suspense.
So, does he know American gymnasts Morgan and Paul Hamm, a three-time Olympic medalist? Not yet, he said.
"But they’re probably going to want to get together after this," Crane added. "Compete a little bit."
Crane also revealed that the "Golf Boys" — the outrageous band he put together with Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler — hope to put another video together soon.
"We have got a couple hurdles to clear, I won’t talk about those, but, yes, we’re trying to get another one done and we’ll see if everything happens," Crane said, talking like a Hollywood producer.
Crane said the first "Golf Boys" video, where the group, clad in a mixture of fur, overalls and the $5 wetsuit, sang a song entitled "Oh, Oh, Oh," came together like "magic." When the videos make his wife, Heather, laugh, Crane says he knows he has a hit on his hands.
"I just watched the making of for the second time, I watched it like after we made it and I watched it like three days ago, and I’m like, oh, my gosh, that’s really good," Crane said. "It’s like funny. And I really enjoyed it.
"So, yeah, it just came off, I don’t know if we can match it. I don’t even know if we should try. We’re going to go a slightly different direction. … The sequel is never as good, but we got to give it a go, right?"

Unfortunately he’s known as the SLOWEST, or one of them, on tour. Perhaps this will help his image, as he does keep himself in nice shape physically. Maybe this diversion will make him play faster. Hope so.

WHEN you crave to be the best and you don’t have the natural ability… you should just accept it and do your darnest to improve. not go out and recruit a few THICK buddies to join you in making fools of them/selves…if you feel infearior because of your bald head {buy a wig}but you shouldn’t take down others who show more golf ability then you….as for religion iam not sure the man upstairs intended for his believers to be show ponies like you.
Wow. Chill out. The guy is a great golfer, amazing Christian testimony, loving caring husband, and these are the comments he gets for trying to cause some people to laugh?
Bubba and Rickie are also men who are born again of Christ, probably should hate on them too.
The really funny thing is that Crane makes fun of himself for his slow play, and yet people still have to call on him on it like its brand new information.
The above comments aren’t even worth a read and am surprised a golf fan would even write them. If this was a hockey or football section, I wouldn’t be surprised. Golf is different. Let’s keep some integrity in our great game, and yes, the comment section.
I believe the boys are probably going to add millions to their bank accounts when they all have a major and are able to look back at themselves and realize that the video taught them how to act in certain occasions. A lot better than watching PGA golf right now. BORING..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Absolutely love watch Cranes videos. 1 problem the video he did on pace of play, well he should take that to the golf course THE SLOWEST PLAYER ON THE PGA TOUR. Maybe all of golf.The fastest round of golf this year was 3.5 hrs. It takes that long for Cranes pre hot routine. LMAO:-) CHEERS
Haters?- I agree let’s keep the integrity but let’s do it without the religion. Once again, if you need it fine but if you are going to talk about it everytime you open your mouth then be ready for the comments. It’s been said here before that it is not only silly to believe in an imaginary being that guides us but even more silly that that being cares who wins golf tournaments, or any sporting event. I also don’t believe that the imaginary being has a tv so praising it on tv seems self serving. Can’t it hear you when you aren’t on tv? Why include all of us who just don’t care about your beliefs? Instead of making fun of yourself about playing slow how about just playing faster. Ben crane seems to be an attention starved little boy.

1. Don’t think Ben’s been on the clock for a while now, so he’s sped up a bit. No way is he still the slowest PGA player. He got the rep and it’s hard to shake it.
2. When healthy he’s a great golfer, and he’s healthy again and 2 for 2 on top-10′s this year.
3. If you don’t like his sense of humor or where he’s coming from that’s fine, but trust me, he’s one of the more liked players on tour.

What has his personality added to the PGA tour? I’m so tired of people saying that. What the tour needs is guys who win majors. Not making videos acting like they are retarded. If I want that I’ll watch Saturday night live. Why exactly does the tour need that? How is it helping golf? It’s not funny, it’s moronic. It just shows me how low people’s expectations have fallen in terms of humor. He’s a golfer shouldn’t he be practicing? Let’s celebrate that he hasn’t been put on the clock for a while! Good job!! Let’s celebrate that he’s liked on tour! Woo hoo!! I want to see Ben cranes comedy routine about as much as I want to see carrot tops golf swing.
Can’t wait to see this one! I get a laugh every time I watch his videos. Glad to see he is doing well this season. It is nice to see a golf professional who doesn’t take life seriously all the time.
It amazes me that people actually waste effort getting upset over this. What does it matter what he does in his spare time especially if he is professional on the golf course?
Look what happened the last time he and the GBoys released a video the week of a tourney…3/4 missed the cut, including Crane, Watson made it barely. Well played. The video sucked, was questionable in its message, and although for a great cause it was not flattering to the PGA or its respected professional golfers. And, how is someone’s religious affiliation even relevant in this conversation??? It’s not. He is getting negative feedback because his videos suck and his play is slow. Crane should practice hitting his golf shots, so he can speed up his routine and avoid annoying his playing partners. I will watch the latest video only to negatively post about it online. Let’s get back to golf already.
If you’ve ever watched him play you would understand. He is glacial. And as I’ve stated not a member of SNL. I don’t tune to the golf channel to see stories about this crap and it’s not funny.
…and please Golf Boys, if and when you do come out with another video, please cover the midriff, especially if you cannot produce even a 2-pac (Hunter)…and let’s leave the ‘groin-grabs’ out of the final cut this time eh?

Really no need to take personal shots at people. This comment section is negative enough as it is. All ‘Haters?’ said was that he admires Ben Crane’s faith. That’s no different than someone saying they admire Phil’s positivity and attitude. Didn’t sound to me like a view that needed patronizing.
That’s your opinion. I’ll say it again, if you believe in an imaginary person who is everywhere all the time then there is no reason to thank it on tv. Unless you are trying use that for personal gain. And as far as Phil’s “positivity and attitude”, I think it’s better described as ignorance and car salesmanship. He’s getting worse and worse but keeps smiling and tells you everything is just fine. I’m sure he’s really happy finishing 15 shots off the lead last week on the easiest courses on tour. If you want to buy that clunker go ahead I’ll pass.
