Check out the January nominees for PGA TOUR Player of the Month presented by Avis.
Who’s was the best PGA TOUR player in January? Now you can help determine the winner.
Avis Rent A Car and the PGA TOUR have redesigned the PGA TOUR’s Player of the Month award program for 2012. The monthly honor will now be determined by a fan vote via PGATOUR.COM.
On the first Tuesday of each month, fans can vote online at PGATOUR.COM for one of four players nominated for their outstanding play the previous month by a panel of national media.

The four nominees for January are: Steve Stricker, Johnson Wagner, Mark Wilson and Brandt Snedeker.
Stricker won the season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Wagner won the Sony Open in Hawaii. Wilson won the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation. And Snedeker won last week’s Farmers Insurance Open.

The voting ends on the following Sunday, and the player with the most votes will be named the PGA TOUR Player of the Month. In addition, Avis, the “Official Rental Car Company” of the PGA TOUR, will present the winner with a $50,000 check payable to his charity of choice.
Results will be posted next Tuesday on PGATOUR.COM
And if you want to state your case for why your favorite player should win the January award, just fill out the form below and let us know.
Wagner simply posted the most and best results.
Eddy- I agree when you just look at the numbers. But I would give it to Snedeker considering the circumstances. He had hip surgery in November, wasn’t even playing golf til early January, plays two tournaments and finishes t8 and a win. Sneds my vote.
STRICKER!!! Won the first event of the year against a field of last years winners. Champion of Champions.
Absolutely Bruce, the circumstances with Sneds great play following rehab are worthy of note, but I have to consider that Wagner played as well as he did whilst sporting that moustache.
LOL. touche!!
Glen Day should be on this list or their should be a write in candidate option that is allowed. Glen took down his club championship in Mobile, Alabama last month with a 2 day total of +2. He cleared the field by 4 shots. That’s pretty impressive stuff. If you could see him bomb the ball like I have, he would be your hands down winner of the Avis player of the month! Let me know your thoughts.
I think they need to add just Wagner’s ‘stache see how many votes it gets!!!!
Tiger Woods is the BEST and always will be.
wagner
… but World Golf Player og the Month was Branden “Amazing” Grace!
STRICKER IS THE MAN!!!!!
I’m a huge fan of Stricker who had a decent win at Kapalua but it was in a field whithout Phil, Rory, Charl and Adam…plus he collapsed on sunday at the Sony. Wagner made top-10, win and runner-up on his first three appearances, and this was most unexpected since he didn’t do anything since his win last year…we have to give him credit
How can we tell whether all those posting above are not Stricker using different IDs to pat himself on the back?
Wagner, no doubt. Three top-10′s, including a win and runner-up. It was his month. Sneds gets second.
Tiger Woods..
because of his third place in Abu Dhabi.
All nominated four would miss the cut there.. :-)
When will Tiger Woods start to use a grown up vocabulary instead of W, Reps, and Traj???????????? Didn’t he go to Stanford?
4 great guys, but with a win and a runner-up, Mr Wagner gets my vote.
Sneds gets my vote of course.
He does nothing spectacular except play excellent golf week after week. It’s very impressive to me that after such a long layoff he comes out and shoots lights out 2 weeks in a row. There is no telling how many tournaments he could win if he had a few more yards off the tee and a little more control. He is working that out and this should be a great yr. for him.
Stricker all the way!
I like all of these guys, but I think Wagner had the best month.
