Whitney Houston is dead. Don’t care. Phil and Tiger is must see tv.

  • !Gotcha!

    Yes, Must See TV.

  • Austin

Can’t wait! I wouldn’t mind if the coverage only stayed on Phil and Tiger.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

It probably will go back and forth between the last 2 when they finally start up, and any other fellows who are surging. should be terrific all day, starting in 4 hours watching the slugfest on the Euro Tour, with repositioning of 2nd, 3rd and 4th place world rankings at stake….then the battering rams (hopefully) of TW and PM, not TW versus PM, fighting the field, as well as the final players. Should be a terrific day. May the best 2 players of the day, win. PS: GO TIGER!

  • Annn

heck of a game.. and the winner wins the cup..forget the first pair…

  • tuck

At this highest level of golf competition, hate to see those amateur crown.

  • abracadabra

right you are austin. that’s why they need to have their own private tour along with some hand picked stooges bankrolled by their rich arab buddies. then you can watch them all you want.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Abra: right on. PGA tour rocks. Go Tiger!

  • Ricky

It will be an incredible day guys. The champion will be undefinitely in this group and is sir Phil M, the most loved inside the PGA. He only had a good day and is leaving all his birides to suprise Tiger tomorrow in his face. Remember, tomorrow will be one of those days that u wont forget for time in this unique course. Enjoy

  • SAMSON & GOLIATH!!!!

    Go Tiger!

  • Pavigator

Wish there was a way to watch the final round via live streaming over net, there is no other possibility from here in the Nordics

  • dorso

Go Tiger tomorrow, check the tale of the tape when these two have been paired together,Tiger holds a good advantage over Phil with x amount of rounds been even. Will be a great day,the real world number 1 will be back

  • phil

well at least the networks will have to let us see phil a little bit, cause if they do not all the tiger fans will cry. should be a great match!!!!

  • joehigs

tiger to win. . . . back where he belongs

  • Realist

For all the haters out there who say people are tired of always seeing Tiger…..Check out the Monday TV rating for this one!! Please don’t use the “they’re only tuning in because it’s Phil excuse” or the “poeple will watch becasue they have a chance to see a first-time champion” excuse. People tune in because they want to see if ONE OF the greatest golfers this fine game has ever seen can get back to greatnees, having to overcome some personal issues and a ton of injuries. It just so happens that it does not hurt that he will be going head to head with with someone who SHOULD have 7 majors by now….Phil. GO TIGER!!

  • gail

Should be exciting! I’m sure a lot better than watching another McIlroy gag in Dubai. Man, is this kid the farthest thing from a winner, or what? Solid early rounds, no chance late. Maybe he should take a year off?

  • Don

I think Tiger has the edge on Phil over the years, but I am still rooting for Phil. GO PHIL!!!

  • gail

Maybe I should quit chacing R.M. posts. Looks klike i want 2 play with the phone rinrnrir

  • hao

HOPE MCILROY COMES THRU TOMORROW; he certainly didn’t look like this great superstar most people are predicting… he can’t afford anymore crashes on his resume. hate to see it effect his love live as well… If he can’t perform under pressure maybe caroline will be taking a look at tiger. he’s single and there were good reports about his performances outside the course. he is very lucky westwood can’t putt or this tourny would be over. cheers.

  • hao

take down rock!! the guy is 36 yrs and nearing the end of his career and nowhere near his best obviously. but can you please explain why this next great superstar RORY after leading the first day failed to do so, even after 3 days he was within 2 strokes of robert should have been close enough to get the job done.hoey gave him a start and beating at st andrews over last 9 holes, he led at dubai and got run over, near lead in hsbc that kaymer won and failed.he led the tourny in dubai that quiros won $2 fav after 2 rounds and choked {same tourn next week} then the biggest choke of them all the masters, led by 4 strokes and shot 82 final round. on the positive side won the u/s open. Iam realy trying to understand where you guys are comming from? but it’s difficult.

  • hao

Mcilroy will never be known as the best: the 4 shot lead & MORE IMPORTANTLY 82 final round will never leave him. that being said lets give him 20 majors… whats the cv say; he beat the past his prime old tiger woods {as many have stated} but wait lets leave tiger out of the equasion and look at the rest of the opposition, keegs ricky spider day ishy cauley sneds manaserro bubba kim bae mahan. surely you don’t want yo name watney or justin after there failures allready.I clearly remember about 5 years ago everyone was wondering how many majors scott would win I’LL leave it up to you guys to look that one up. now that we have established the so called super players comming thru can anyone match up the past rivalrys of tigers; els phil vj paddy sergio westy goose choi cabrera ect ect with rorys present and future youg guns.I know its a little hypothetical but give it a try . or you could try jacks opposition to rorys it just might stop a few critics from getting ahead of themselves.cheer

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Rors left with his tail between his legs, as did his girlfriend. Yippee!!!

  • jason

Hao, keep trying to convince yourself that tiger is still the man. Most of us know that his time has gone and he will never beat jacks record. Did rory look intimidated? The opposite , he looked like he was having a good time with tiger, no fear for rory or any of the new breed. Would rocky have taken woods out 3 years ago? No chance, tiger has lost the aura and intimidation factor, I hope he plays better this year but don’t expect a young euro or US player to buckle anymore.

  • jason

    April 10th, 2011 6:04 am

Rory is the real deal , where are you gail et all?? To be as composed as he is, tee to green by far the best this week, if his putting matched it would be a one man show. The PGA tour is not promoting rorys fantastic performance as it should because, do you remember? , he told them he did not want to play on their tour. Good luck to a talented, humble, down to earth young man. Winning the masters will not turn him into an arrogant monster like others. Go rors

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Anybody notice Rors wore black and red, again on this Sunday?

    Can you spell WANNA BE?

  • SIR SHAUN

Dave and Eddy.. I agree, McIlroy is better of being just behind the lead going into a final round. I feel Rory’s better when he is chasing the lead rather than trying to protect one, he’ll have more lisence to free-wheel it tomorrow which he’s better at doing.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Free wheel it tomorrow? Are you psycho? THE TOURNAMENT IS OVER….

  • stevie

Today you might just get some vintage phil mickelson golf. What more do you want than a chance to take on tiger and coming out on top.Whether we can catch charlie or ken is in the lap of the gods.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

    ATTENTION SHOPPERS:

ALL PUMA ITEMS ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE UNTIL 2013…

RICKIE FOWLER MISSES THE CUT AT PEBBLE BEACH.

  • jason

Hao, good to see even though it’s a new season u r still mired in the past and talking the same old rubbish. U guys are so lucky to have rory commit to your tour, wake up and enjoy it.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Repeat: Rors can’t close on Sunday 50/50? possibly.

BettingZone.co.UK….RORS odds are “DRIFTING”, already…take that to the bank.. I am not alone in my saying he’s not the Next Coming.

  • IAN

noddy – you’re a fool, keep make making up excuses for him because that’s all he seems to use for himself nowadays, that’s what he did when he lost to Robert Rock in Abu Dhabi.

You want some future stars – Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Martin Kaymer, Matteo Mana$$ero, Tom Lewis, Noh Seung Yul, Ryo Ishikawa and now Kyle Stanley.

  • MARK 111

If Chopra can repeat some of his Aces this week, he will be worth watching?

Rickie should be ready for a victory at the Beach this week.

Woods has lost the “Tiger” in himself since his last win 2 1/2 years ago at the BMW Championship, so don’t expect him top the Leaderboard because he is not 100% healthy yet. The best you can expect from “Meow” Woods this week is to see him past Mickelson in the OWGR rankings when the points are given out on Sunday.

  • Sir Shaun

You guys are funny, re-posting comment’s from myself and others from weeks and month’s ago.. It’s quite sad when you think about. Well done to Rafa Cabrera-Bello for winning the Dubai Desert Cla$$ic, he played well all week and deserved to win. Looking forward to watching Woods,Mickelson and co later on, should be fun to watch for any real Golf fan out their.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Mark III: SURE, Rickie is really ready for the beach: Attention shoppers: PUMA HAS YEAR LONG SALE ON ALL ITEMS..

RICKY FOWLER DIDN’T MAKE THE CUT.

Keep current before putting something down you have no complete knowledge about.

  • MIKE MILLER

With his high ball flight, I reckon Rory will do better in the USA than in Europe.

Also, given Tiger’s demise, the PGA Tour needs charismatic and talented youngsters to help build its future viewership and sponsorships. Rory is surely the best of gen-n

  • Ray

    Riveting golf ahead…

This is the golf the golf duel Phil will be thriving on….there is on doubt that Phil has only been motivated by Tiger in years gone by…

Tiger of course will be motivated to win and show Phil who the boss is….

will be worth watching and hope Tiger fires a stunning round… Go Tiger!!!

  • MIKE MILLER

Many guys who have had a Major within their grasp, who fail to close it out, never recover and never win one: Van de Velde, Bob May, Chad Campbell, Bjorn, Westwood, Sabbatini, Barnes, Bubba, Garcia, Rocco & Kenny Perry to name just a few examples off the top of my head. This makes Rory McIlroy’s ‘comeback’ win in the US Open all the more meritorious. And at age 22!

  • Dany

Tiger no problem, he will beat Phil

  • gail

Last week it was John Daly, and now it’s Ben Curtis. Maybe if the Euro Tour continues to entice our “has-beens” with enough appearance money, they’ll end up with some decent fields. Unfortunately, these guys that are the “top players in the world” don’t seem to be able to win. Never heard of a sport where the guys considered the best always lose…

  • scott

Hijacked Kitty aka TW fav – This isn’t him working his way back…this is his new game. Now that he’s older he can’t play the care free game he once did. He isn’t the only golfer to have made this change…heck most golfers make this change in their game. Like I said, it isn’t a bad thing but the new tiger isn’t the exciting tiger of old. The closest thing to the exciting tiger of old is McIlroy…which is why I find it funny that so many tiger fans dislike McIlroy.

  • gail

Just a terrible finish by Westwood on the last few holes. He and McIlroy just aren’t winners, PERIOD!

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

It’s called working his way back into form, Scott. Remember, several health problems take tim to heal, then allowed to practice, then all the 24/7 coverage over 27 months.

Let’s see how you’d do under those conditions, and then have cameras clicking during your swing all the time, both on and off the course.

Realistically, he’s working his way up to his best. Nothing gained, nothing ventured. Also, if you’re waiting for a new red shirt, tell him to see a plastic surgeon and Vidal Sassoon before wearing it again.

  • gail

Scott…McIlroy is NOTHING like Woods. Tiger, like him or not, was a closer. McIlroy is a choker. One thing Tiger never did was gag. “Rors” does it EVERY WEEK!

  • Wee CM

Probably not many more such pairing in the future. A tournament within a tournament, will be a classic pairing. Good luck to both players.

  • Tiger & Phil vs The Field

Rors gags wearing the colors of the face of the game for generations to come. Intimidating, or wannabe? I rest my case.

  • scott

I’ve been waiting over 3 years for tiger to get hot with the flat stick…..I think its time for a belly putter for tiger.

  • scott

Sir Shaun – you can thank foley for tiger’s inability to hit it close.

  • scott

So tiger shoots a -2 on what Mr. Wackjob says is the easiest course of the three. Tiger needs to putt better…plain and simple. Tiger doesn’t have the distance control because of his new swing. HE will get close every once in awhile but he won’t be consistent in getting close to the pin. Tiger’s new swing allows him to hit more fairways and hit more greens but he’s lost that distance control. He will finish in the top 10 in most tournaments he plays but he will have a hard time winning if he can’t get the ball close to the pin.

  • scott

There is no way that someone who is T141 in putting should win any tournament.

  • scott

william – he may be 4 off second but 6 off the lead…which means he lost ground on the leaders…..and he lost ground when he was playing the easiest course. I don’t count him out but……

  • scott

It is this ridiculous over coverage of Tiger that makes people hate tiger. You can’t blame tiger for it but unfortunately he is the one the hate is directed towards. To have a dedicated article here to discuss tiger’s round would be just fine….instead there have been 3 or 4 articles in less then 20 minutes.

  • scott

Lee – I don’ hate tiger at all…..I’ve said that several times. I hate the over coverage of tiger and the Tiger Fans that seem to think he is bigger than the sport itself.

  • scott

pick – As I said….I don’t see a problem in having a dedicate article to tiger’s round. I do have a problem with three articles that could all be part of one. You may golf but its obvious you are not a golf fan or else you would care about watching golf without tiger. You have just shown you are nothing more then a Tiger Bum Chum……and your lips have a deserved spot on tiger’s arse.

PKD – Tiger is not bigger than golf….Palmer wasn’t, Jones wasnt, no golfer in the history of the sport is bigger than the game. If they had the internet and PGA Tour.com back then and they plastered Palmer and Jones everywhere like they do tiger then I would have a problem with it as well.

  • scott

X24 hot – Can you see why I call some of these people Bum Chums now? You can be a Tiger Fan and still be a golf fan….you can’t be a bum chum and still be a golf fan.

I fully admit that I’m not a fan of Tiger but I am a fan of what he was able to accomplish and how great he once was. Do I cheer for him….no, but there are only maybe three or four golfers that I truly cheer for.

  • scott

PKD – enough with the move the needle crap. The only people who should care if he moves the needle are people that make money off of golf. Tiger fans and golf fans shouldn’t care one bit. The funny thing is he may move the needle but there is no direct evidence to link Tiger Woods to increased sales of golf equipment or increased golf participation in north america. He may move the needle but advertisers are not seeing increases in sales because of the needle moves. The simple answer is the Majority of Tiger Bum Chums don’t golf.

  • scott

it’s GO TIME – My favorite player is Mike Weir. Not just because he is Canadian but because I do know him on a personal level. That’s why I cheer for him.

I will also cheer for John Daly when he plays. I’ve met John a few times at Canadian Opens and he has always made time and just chat with me.

I also cheer for Matt McQuillan because I know him on a personal level as well.

I also cheer for any Canadian because I’m proud to be Canadian.

I don’t cheer for or against people I don’t know on some personal level.

  • scott

The only reason I am on this site is to follow Tiger’s round – I love to play golf, I love to watch golf……to watch Tiger play. The rest of these guys are indistinguishable from each other.

  • scott

Duane – I fully admit I don’t like Tiger “the Person”. I don’t hate tiger “the Golfer”.

  • scott

it’s GO TIME – Weir is playing good. When I was talking to him last week he said he is hitting the ball better than he has in three years. He is no longer afraid of re-aggravating his elbow injury.

  • scott

I guess the tiger bum chums will have to beat off to a different golfer today.

  • scott

Tiger is now playing the type of golf that Tiger Lovers have always said they hated…..boring golf. Don’t get me wrong boring golf isn’t bad its actually a good thing. Great golf is meant to look boring….tee to fairway, fairway to green, and green to hole. If tiger lovers think tiger is exciting to watch right now then boy are they going to go crazy with excitement when Luke Donald comes to PGA Tour soil. The golfer who reminds me most of the exciting tiger right now is Rory McIlroy.

  • Little Ed

I have to admit I was surprised to see Phil on the leaderboard, much less near the top. Where has he been all winter? Did I miss something?

Anyway, I’ll be pinned to the barca for the afternoon. The days of ‘baby steps’ are over for Tiger…he needs to take the hill. Phil is used to losing and smiling about it and moving on. Tiger will tear off a pound of his own flesh if he whiffs it from this position.

Go Tiger!!!! Breathe some life back into this prom dance called the PGA Tour!

  • Sean Smith

Just an absolutely ridiculous comment by GAIL by way of a change. Oh, sorry, she or it always makes stupid ignorant comments. Rory Mcilroy is ONLY 22 years of age! Have you not realised that fact GAIL?

Westwood NOT a WINNER? Just a MERE 37 Professional Titles to his credit.

  • Sean Smith

The hardest thing to do at a young age GAIL, is have consistency in your game, and Rory Mcilroy has consistency in abundance.

    Here is Rory Mcilroy’s last 6 Tournament Results Worldwide going back to 2nd October of last year;

    Omega Dubai Desrt Cla$$ic – 5th.

Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship – 2nd.

Dubai World Championship – 11th (was ill this week)

UBS Hong Kong Open – 1st.

    WGC-HSBC Champions – 4th.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship – 2nd.

Rory is a total of 82 Under Par (-82) in these 6 tournaments and has made over 1 Million Euros during this time.

He can only get better in the future when he is this good at age 22. He is still growing.

He is at a completely different level to Rickie Fowler your great hope who missed yet another CUT and only beat David Duval by a couple of strokes. He is better than Kyle Stanley, Webb Simpson, Keegan Bradley and all your other young guys you’re “pinning hopes” on. And btw he is YOUNGER than all of these.

  • Sean Smith

    Desert*

  • Sean Smith

What are Tiger Woods results in his last 6 tournaments GAIL? Just wondering. All I will say is it’s no where near as good as Rory’s last 6 starts.

All I know is Mcilroy played with Woods 3 of the 4 rounds in Abu Dhabi and BEAT HIM.

Didn’t you say all last year when he is paired with Woods he would crumble, roll into his shell and bow down and struggle with his game? How wrong you were.

  • Sean Smith

IS Tiger Woods leading at Pebble Beach or is it Charlie Wi? It looks to me that TW is plastered all over the PGA Tour website as if he is leading and GUARANTEED to win

Hey? Question. Didn’t all the Tiger Woods worshippers and the Media alike GIVE the Championship in Abu Dhabi to Tiger Woods before Sunday’s play even started???

And wasn’t Tiger leading going into that Sunday? Is Tiger not 4 strokes behind Charlie Wi here? I fully expect Wi to struggle as he usually does Sunday on the PGA Tour the couple of times he’s led before but this is NOT Tiger Wood’s tournament yet.

  • Realist

He rolled outta there wearing black and red, and hadd his tail between his legs, ran to his FORMER #1 ranked girlfriend, WHO BY THE WAY, GOT HER #1 RANKING BY NOT WINNINA A MAJOR AT ALL, LIKE LUKE.

All the tennis media coverage mentioned it as soon as she was taken down, and they all thought she just played sooooooooooooo many tournaments, more than a professional should to take care of their heath, and therefore only won smaller events and accumulated the money, and got the ranking, false. See any similarities? Why did Rors play so much the last 6 months of last year? Same thing…thought he’d be forgotten.

Boy he showed everyone today huh?

Really,he played better than Tiger in Abu Dhabi? Only one hole better? Did he win?
Hello….wake up and smell the black funeral roses.

Why do you think he’s playing PGA tour this year…..whine…whine…whine….

…quote from Rors himself…”I like the weather better in the US”….LMFAO

  • Waste Of Time Poll

Dang, Who out of the chasers has the best chance of winning Sunday at Pebble? Wow, Tiger Woods winner of near 100 titles worldwide although not the same man the record is still there 4 strokes back. Ken Duke winner of a fine total of 0 times on the PGA Tour 3 strokes back. What a brave shout all those who voted “TW” the biggest threat to Wi.

  • Sean Smith

Realist – Rory is playing BOTH the European Tour and PGA Tour this season. Not just the PGA Tour alone as you make out. He is taking advantage of his great game especially at a young age to add some of your US Dollars to his already fast growing Bank Balance.

He is simply playing both Tours as every good player should. Perhaps if your young American players weren’t so scared to try out the European Tour against the World’s best on the toughest courses in the most difficult of weather, people like Dustin Johnson and Anthony Kim and your other “young guns” would become better players. Instead of your long ball-hitting “doesn’t matter if it’s in the rough cause you have a wedge shot, target golf” you have there in the States.

  • Realist

Yup, four strokes back on a Sunday is a major hurdle, adding to that the -9 guys hovering overhead.

If Tiger doesn’t win, he’s done. Just getting to minus 4 will be OK for me, which will show he’s steadily improving. He has nodoby to account for EXCEPT himself.

Working his way back via reps, practicing, and being patient. We are impatient. Sure he wants a win yesterday, but I will be saddened if he doesn’t win, but will know he tried and is WORKING HIS WAY BACK TO routinely contending.

Let’s hope the usual SNAPPING OF MEDIA CAMERAS STOPS DURING THIS ROUND. Who else has the problem day in and day out…they do it on purpose, and it probably works some of the time.

  • Sean Smith

Realist – Are you a Realist from a golfing point of view or a Tiger Woods fanboy point of view? He isn’t the only guy playing out there this week you know, as much as your Commentators and Media are trying to make it look like he is….

  • Realist

I know he’s playing both tours, ninkompoop. He NOW wants to play the FedEx…as does Lee W.

Hysterical…can’t wait for Lee (whom I really like) to show up there with all his SHIRTS WITH THE LOGO OF UPS ON HIS SHIRTS.

I’m sure UPS is very delighted he’s playing there….LOL

Now Rors will be able to say…”too much traveling back and forth” and be his excuse for not winning enough, or at all.

  • Realist

I’m not a fanboy, really. I just want everyone to give him the peace of mind so he can work up to prior skill and mental health on the course so we can see some really fun golf, that’s all.

It appears there is definite reason to believe that “others” don’t want this to ever occur, and then alternate people can and are being promoted, even though they have not shown appropriate skills to warrant their coverage and/or discussion.

Believe me or not, I want the best competition.

  • Sean Smith

When you come from Northern Ireland, even the weather in England is an improvement, of course he would like the weather in America. His game better suits American golf is all with his long ball hitting and high flighted iron shots, and wood shots to be honest.

  • Sean Smith

Tiger Woods supporters keep forgetting that he is 36 years of age now and the majority of players lose their form around the age of 40. Not only this, as we all know he is prone to another long term injury, and the power Woods has in his swing will always carry this risk. I guess it’s TW’s own fault in a way, he is such a technical player, not as easy on the eye as a Mcilroy or a Montgomerie at his pomp, just because they look more natural. Woods put in alot of work to get to where he did.

In my view TW is the best player of all time even though he’s won 14 Majors to Jack’s 18. Jack said himself “there aren’t as many great player’s today but there are more good players than when I played”. Back when he played there really was only a handful of players who could compete, nowadays there’s 10-20 players good enough to win, or contend most weeks in big events. Woods is better I believe because of his dominant, 8,10,12 and even 15 stroke wins, and the fear factor he once had.

  • Sean Smith

Many people have critisized me in their comments because of some of my views on Tiger Woods last year and this but they have it all wrong.

    I will clarify my view now;

I don’t like Tiger Woods as a person.

I seriously respect him as a player and all the great things he’s done on a golf course.

You can not like a man as a human being but at the same time you can appreciate him as a player. This is possible.

  • Sean Smith

Here is a flipside; I have always liked Phil Mickelson as a human being, but right now I don’t like his game. I use to like his aggressive play but in his 40s now he should tone it down a little bit.

  • Realist

Sean I can see you’re writing wordy paragraphs to try and seem honest and not biased, as usual.

36 is not old for TW. Who cares about prior injuries. The reason for the long layoff now and s l o w l y playing himself back into contention and the patience has has to have the next 6 months is exactly that, as he also gets more comfortable with the new swing.

You can say there’s no intimidation factor. Who cares? Tiger doesn’t. He just plays to beat himself, i.e. get better, then win.

Reasoning with a hater like you is fruitless. Nobody in the last 2.5 years has actually won more times than 2 or 3x/year and kept this up for the time he has been ailing/rehabbing. Keep telling yourself there are guys there, yup, there is so much parity, another word for it is the most BORING GOLF AND SPECIALLY WINNING MAJORS WITH A BELLY PUTTER, RIDICULOUS.

    GIVE BACK THAT TROPHY CHEATER.

Can’t wait to watch Tiger and Phil but I think that either DK is going to come from behind with a low score or Charlie Wi is going to hang on and win.

As for McIlroy, he played poorly at the weekend, his swing got very fast and he was missing drives all over the place. He’s got to keep the rhythm and stop going for the 350 yard drive or the approach to 2 feet all of the time.

Rory always gags and Tiger never does, good one gail. I guess you weren’t watching two weeks ago when Tiger was tied for the lead and only hit 2 fairways and 5 greens to lose.

And don’t start every post on every thread…”I don’t like him as a human being”.

I don’t care for this on a golf website.
    i
I can’t stand that Phil kisses up to the fans, advertisers, and earns OVER $50 million for years now, NOT PLAYING BUT SMILING, GIVING FUNNY YET (GOOD) PRESS CONFERENCES, ETC.

Who bought the house he’s selling in Rancho Sante Fe, CA???? the arse kissers who pay him, as opposed to getting sponsors for PLAYING THE BEST, YEAR IN, YEAR OUT.

You are not even believable stating”I don’t like him as a person”, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Repeat, who cares what YOU think? Slime gets that sentence in at least 10x/post/week.

Realist – I am also a hater of the Long Putters. Tiger Woods made a comment saying they should make a rule that determines the maximum length a putter can be. I agree with him to some extent but this can be worked around. I don’t like the anchoring into a body part factor. There was a player in the 1933 Ryder Cup can’t think of his name right now but he has a regular length putter, and he has it anchored into his body.

It isn’t the length factor for me but it’s the anchoring factor that needs to be looked at. Even that putting grip that Bernard Langer had when he held his left arm with his right hand shouldnt be allowed as this is eliminating some of the nerves also. Soren Kjeldsen on the European Tour I believe uses a very similar putting grip. This should also be banned.

    had* not has.

Realist – Golf without Tiger is boring? I enjoy golf without Tiger now because he isnt anywhere near as good as he once was and many of the players right now are playing better golf than him. TW just isn’t bringing much to the party now.

Your name “Realist” is a little bit ironic because if you were a real Realist you would realise that golf isn’t ALL ABOUT Tiger and that there are many over players right now worth watching. If TW finds his game from 1997-2007 then fair enough he is worth a watch but now he is getting beat by Greg Chalmers and Robert Rock.

    other* brain fart =-/

I have but one wish for today…..GOOOOOOO PHIL!!!!!!..;)…enjoy seeing Tiger coming back fighting too…;)

  • willya

This is a game people. On any given Sunday, it can be anybodies day, just like any other sport. And of course the media has to do it’s job and get you riled up so they can show their bosses they are doing a good job. Love to watch TW play, but being from SC have to root for the homeboys also. The fact is they are really good, and there are alot of them.Play away please.

  • gail

Sean…you sound ridiculous defending McIlroy, when the world sees how he gags EVERY weekend. Tiger has always won on tour, and “Rors” always loses…

  • smith

Golf Channel listen, please listen well, easy with the commercials, way TOO MANY. Since you are the only game in town, don’t take advantage of it. Heck charge a little more and show more golf, tired of so many commercials instead do a better job and give us more detail of the players locations of their balls, today and previous days. Your greed will come back to byte. Be smart Golf Channel.

  • gail

Think Daly or Ben Curtis could win the Order of Merit on the Euro Tour if they played full-time?

  • gail

Great call Dave…the guy has how many majors and overall wins? He won the money title eight times in Europe and HE WASN’T A MEMBER OF THE TOUR! You think there’s someting to discuss?

  • Ken

It should be a good one. Phil has always been “my man”, but PHIL DOES NOT SHOW UP WITH HIS BEST GAME. I will pull for one of his “great” games on this one. He is paired with one of the all time great’s, but Tiger also, is losing his greatness. I think Phil is a geniuine person, and loaded with class. Come on Phil, today, bring your “A” game.

  • gail

Here’s the question for Sean and the rest of the Euros: Who is the biggest gagger, the young gagger or the old gagger? I go for the young, as he gags every week. The old gagger just can’t putt. Whaddya think?

Gail.. at least McIlroy can get into a position to “gag” week in week out unlike a Rickie Fowler or Keegan Bradley for example. It’s clear for all to see that you HATE McIlroy with a pa$$ion, but please try to control your hatred toward’s him and other European players for once. Thank You :)

  • gail

C’mon Sir Shaun…you have to be concerned with this pattern. The kid can’t win, and even with all that talent, his mind is one of a high handicap. If this continues, he may need a break from the game…

  • gail

Almost time for the real tournament to start. Phil and Tiger are teeing off shortly!

  • Dave

lets see what happens in the big tournies shall we?

  • Allen

Whitney and Newt both died last night.
Clippers on Fire. New big 3 make Labron, Dwade, and Bosch look like red headed school-gils.
6 way playoff at the ladies pga austrailian, cool.

  • Sir Shaun

Gail.. Just give the lad a break. I enjoyed the Golf from Dubai and I’m looking foward to the Golf from Pebble Beach, because I’m a real Golf fan and like watching both Tours..speak later with the result Gail, goodbye for now.

  • Allen

Tiger and Phil at Pebble….Let’s GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gail

Great Dave…I’ve watched the “big tournaments”, called majors, and what has happened 14 times. On the Euro Tour, it’s like “Groundhog Day” every weekend. Rory leads, and gags to some no-name who we’ve never heard of. Good thing the Tour over there is paying guys like Daly and Ben Curtis….

  • gail

Didn’t realize that once “Rors” was out of it and the pressure was gone, he made a couple of birdies for another top ten. Nice job!

  • gail

When I saw Westwood “flinch” hitting the chip on the last hole, it was obvious why he can’t win a major. He looked like he was just hoping not to skull it and was happy it was on the green. Sad, but very true if you watched it…
